Jeb Bush Shames Donald Trump: ‘No Apology’ Will Ever Excuse Your ‘Reprehensible Comments’

Speaking in response to the sickening revelations of GOP nominee Donald Trump’s lewd and misogynistic remarks in 2005, Jeb Bush to took to twitter tonight to state that:

As the grandfather of two precious girls, I find that no apology can excuse away Donald Trump’s reprehensible comments degrading women.

Bush, who was one of Trump’s leading competitors during the GOP primary campaign, and one of his biggest critics since he gained the nomination, articulated what most of us are feeling: that no apology can excuse the insulting and degrading of women in such a despicable manner.

If one day can change the course of a presidential election campaign then this could very well be it. Trump has been rounded on from all quarters since today’s reprehensible comments were revealed, with some of the most vociferous criticism coming from within the Republican Party. In addition to Jeb Bush’s remarks on the matter, a host of other leading Republicans have released statements expressing outrage at the toxic revelation.

Most notably, this has seen Paul Ryan cancel a joint appearance with the GOP nominee in Wisconsin this Saturday over the ‘vulgar comments’. The House Leader adding that:

“I am sickened by what I heard today. Women are to be championed and revered, not objectified. I hope Mr. Trump treats this situation with the seriousness it deserves and works to demonstrate to the country that he has greater respect for women than this clip suggests. In the meantime, he is no longer attending tomorrow’s event in Wisconsin.”

In a similar act of political evasion, one of the GOP’s leading female lights has been quick to distance herself from Trump following today’s shocking revelations.

Days after describing Trump as a ‘role model’, the New Hampshire senator, Kelly Ayotte has quickly changed her tune on the GOP nominee, today stating that his comments were:

“totally inappropriate and offensive”

To be perfectly honest, this appears to be just the beginning of the backlash that Trump will likely face for many days to come. Somehow, he has managed to survive in this campaign despite refusing to release his tax returns, insulting veterans with PTSD, as well as a general yet staggering level of political incompetence. However, if he continues to hemorrhage support from within his own party base as witnessed today then it would appear that his race is almost certainly run.
