Jason Chaffetz: Trump's Sexual Assault Isn't So Bad Compared to Hillary

GOP Rep Jason Chaffetz: Trump’s Sexual Assault Isn’t So Bad Compared to Hillary (VIDEO)

Jason Chaffetz Has Done A Mind-Numbing 180-Degree Flip When It Comes To Support For Donald Trump

Are all Republicans completely out of their minds? What the hell is up with them, and in particular, at the moment, Utah Congressman Jason Chaffetz? The guy is on a roll lately of saying and doing utterly stupid things.

It seems that this time around Chaffetz, the Chairman of the House Committee for Oversight and Government Reform, who has a serious hate on for Hillary Clinton, has done a complete 180 degree spin on Donald Trump.

It wasn’t all that long ago that he denounced Trump after the infamous Access Hollywood tape came out. In fact, this is what he said, according to Raw Story.

“I’m out. I can no longer in good conscience endorse this person for president. It is some of the most abhorrent and offensive comments that you can possibly imagine. My wife, Julie and I, we have a 15-year-old daughter. Do you think I can look her in the eye and tell her that I endorsed Donald Trump for president when he acts like this and his apology? … So I’m not going to put my good name and reputation and my family behind Donald Trump when he acts like this, I just can’t do it.”

Apparently his good name and reputation aren’t worth that much because Chaffetz has voted for Trump.

He appeared on CNN with Wolf Blitzer who asked him what the heck he was thinking.

“Last week, my wife and I both voted for Donald Trump to be the next president of the United States. I think Hillary Clinton is that bad. She is so bad and so wrong for the United States of America. I think her ability to look in the camera and just lie, lie, lie scares me more than anything.”

So, to clarify, Chaffetz thinks that Hillary is so horribly awful that he would rather vote for a man who openly brags about sexual abuse of women? What about that whole thing about looking into his daughters eyes? What happened to all that fatherly concern? And, Chaffetz did not want his good name and reputation to be ruined by endorsing Trump – but now he has voted for Trump? WTF?

That’s right, according to Chaffetz, he still isn’t endorsing Trump. Oh no. Not at all. Nope. He’s just voting for him but not doing the whole endorsement thing. But, as The Washington Post points out:

“Chaffetz may be trying to clarify that just because he’s not supporting Trump doesn’t mean he’s not voting for him. But that’s politics-speak for having it both ways. Any reasonable reading of the situation is that Chaffetz has spun a full 180 on Trump in a matter of weeks.”

Um, yup. That’s, without a doubt, what has happened. And he talks about Hillary Clinton lying when just a few weeks ago he was saying he was out and done with Trump and he now votes for the guy? How is that different from lying, exactly?

Chaffetz has a lot of nerve to say he doesn’t like Hillary because all she does is lie. Clearly, he hasn’t paid attention to Trump for the past year or so on the campaign trail. All Donald seems to do is look into whatever camera he can get his orange face in front of and lie, lie, lie.

For that matter, Chaffetz himself doesn’t seem to mind doing his own lying by, for example, saying that the FBI had reopened their case against Hillary Clinton in a tweet when that wasn’t what was happening in the slightest. His lies are cool – Hillary, however, is the worst possible thing for America because of her “lies”. Got it.

To say that Wolf Blitzer was a bit dumbfounded by what is a truly ridiculous set of events would be putting it mildly.

“After that initial Access Hollywood video came out, more than a dozen women have publicly come out and accused Donald Trump of doing exactly the kind of behavior that he described in the video tape. What has changed between then and now when you said you couldn’t look your wife and your daughter in the eye and support Donald Trump?”

What was Jason Chaffetz’s response?

“You have to put it in the context of Hillary Clinton.”

You have to put allegations of sexual abuse into context against Hillary? Here is the context. On one side you have highly capable, trained and seasoned presidential candidate in Hillary Clinton. On the other side you have slimey, grabby, mouthy Donald Trump.

“It’s the true definition of a dilemma.”

Um, no. That’s the true definition of insanity and delusion.
