Donald’s Math Problem: Ignorant Trump Rails Against Debt While Proposing $11 Trillion More (VIDEO)

Donald Trump And His Tricky National Debt Problem

Donald Trump wants you to know that the national debt is bad – while simultaneously proposing to add $11 trillion to that figure.

We all know Republicans are really bad at math, but Donald Trump takes that to a new level.

During an interview on CNBC Monday, Donald Trump clutched his metaphorical pearls and hysterically lamented about the “national debt surge” under that awful, Kenyan-born, Muslim-loving socialist Barack Obama.

“In eight years we’ve doubled what’s happened over hundreds of years,” Trump whined. He also conveniently omitting how much of the debt was created by Republican policies that demanded war and tax cuts for the rich, with no intent of paying for either of them. “The worst part of doubling the debt is we haven’t gotten anything for it.”

And this isn’t the first time Trump has lamented the national debt. He’s fumed about it from the beginning, which is bread-and-butter to his base, of course, and the Republican Party, in general.

But even as he rails against a concept that he may not even fully understand, he is simultaneously proposing policies that would triple the very thing which he laments.

Trump Hates The Debt So Much He Wants To Add To It…Substantially

Virtually every analysis of Trump’s wacky proposals show that, should be become president, he would increase the national debt dramatically.

Perhaps his fans should have listened to him back in May, when he said the following:

“I’m the king of debt. I understand debt probably better than anybody. I know how to deal with debt very well. I love debt.”

Because his policies, as wild and vague as they are, add trillions to the national debt that he hates so much. According to the Brookings Institution, his plans swell the national debt by $10 trillion. The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget estimates that Trump’s policies would add $11.5 trillion, while Moody’s Analytics estimated it at $11 trillion, which would be accompanied by a “lengthy recession.”

Donald Trump Really IS The ‘King Of Debt’

So, under a President Trump (I shudder every time I write that), the national debt would balloon past $30 trillion.

He really is the king of debt! But, unlike his multiple failed business deals, Trump can’t file bankruptcy for the United States of America.

So where does Trump’s massive debt come from? There’s his proposed infrastructure building, of course. But Trump has combined increased spending with tax cuts for individuals and businesses.

I’ll give you one guess as to which segment of the population would benefit the most from these tax cuts.

If you said “the wealthiest,” congratulations. You are now qualified to be a member of Trump’s economic team. If your name is Steve and you’re white, you’re probably on the team already.

Trump Will Pay For His Policies Using Magic Republican Math

Like many Republicans before him, Trump fills in the wide, huge, yawning, gaping, deep gaps of his fantasy of more tax cuts for the wealthy by pretending to believe that his magical plan will generate enough growth to offset the tremendous rise in debt.

Only Republicans can claim, with a straight face, that you can spend more money while getting less in revenue and that, in the end, it will wash out.

And this is despite the fact that math and history both say no. No, that will not happen. It never has, and it never will. Trump might as well say that he plans on finding the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow in order to pay for his plan. That’s just as reasonable.

Watch him pretend to know like he has the slightest idea of how to run a nation in the video below. He literally phones it in on this one.
