Youtube Finally Flushed Alex Jones for Hate Speech and The Tinfoil Hat Brigade is Melting Down
conspiracy creep finally got what he deserved
Alex Jones is a shock jock who has become famous for being the most popular conspiracy theorist in the United States. Through YouTube and various social media networks, he has significantly expanded his brand of lunacy and fake news, called InfoWars, for the sake of spreading hate and misinformation in far-right fringe groups.
Despite being responsible for pioneering denial of the Sandy Hook shooting and helping spread the Pizzagate hoax, the latter of which resulted in the employees of a D.C. pizzeria being harassed and shot at, Jones has continued to remain a thorn in the side of decent Americans. And his friendship and association to current President Donald Trump only adds to his danger as a propagandist.
That is until Monday, when Apple, Spotify, Facebook and YouTube took steps to shut down their role in Jones’ stream of hate and lunacy. On Facebook, the company released the following statement detailing the removal of four pages from the site:
“As a result of reports we received, last week, we removed four videos on four Facebook Pages for violating our hate speech and bullying policies. These pages were the Alex Jones Channel Page, the Alex Jones Page, the InfoWars Page and the Infowars Nightly News Page. In addition, one of the admins of these Pages – Alex Jones – was placed in a 30-day block for his role in posting violating content to these Pages.”
YouTube used a similar tactic by outright banning The Alex Jones Channel from the community, citing its violation of YouTube policies “against hate speech and harassment or our terms prohibiting circumvention of our enforcement measures.” At the time of its banning, it had about 2.4 million followers.
Of course, according to multiple external sources, these outlets were only part of Jones’ audience. Jones gets the majority of his audience primarily through direct access to the InfoWars site and his radio show. And Jones remains a continued presence on Twitter.
Now, Jones was not censored by the government, and has objectively been guilty of wantonly violating the terms of service he agreed to with the private companies that have finally, after years of letting it slide, ended their business relationships with him Monday. Jones has spewed hate, racism, and lies as a matter of course for years. His rhetoric has in many cases been libelous slander, and tragically, has led to violence, and danger for innocent people.
Despite these facts, Jones is spinning the situation into one of censorship and persecution, claiming that conservative news outlets are being targeted.
We’ve been banned completely on Facebook, Apple, & Spotify.
What conservative news outlet will be next?
The one platform that they CAN’T ban and will ALWAYS have our live streams is https://t.co/OQtch0tDED

Naturally, his rabid followers haven’t take so kindly to the news. And the same people who firmly believe in a guy who insists that the lizard people secretly rule the world, Robert Mueller is a “demon”, and that CNN is “fake news” and should be shut down, are crying their alligator tears today. And, of course, insisting it’s all a liberal plot (no word that I’ve seen about whether the lizard people are behind it, though).
Should anyone be surprised that the followers of a right wing conspiracy theorist would see a vast left wing conspiracy theory, instead of a long overdue reckoning, in all this? Or that their recriminations are loaded with one the favorite gaslighting techniques, whataboutism, which they’ve learned from the example of their other cult-leader, Donald Trump? Probably not…

#Facebook Bans #InfoWars, but Keeps #Antifa, Louis #Farrakhan. Other pages allowed on the platform including “Fuck White America”, “Fuck the south” and “Islam Will Rule the World.” seem to be lower on Facebook’s list of “gloryfying violence” than InfoWars.https://t.co/LQJMdtOAL1
