Trump’s Son Just Confirmed Comey’s Testimony on Flynn Investigation

There were many key moments that came from former FBI director James Comey’s testimony regarding his interactions with President Trump, including that Trump demanded that the director give him loyalty like a dictator and that Comey told Trump he was not personally under investigation.

However, the biggest thing to emerge was the revelation that Trump had told Comey directly how he “hoped” the director would find disgraced security official Michael Flynn innocent. This was significant as it detailed two things regarding the Trump Administration: one that Trump, and by extension his vice president Mike Pence, were supportive of Flynn despite knowing beforehand of him being under investigation for Russian blackmail, and two, that he did in fact interfere with an ongoing investigation.

Of course the President, being the lying contrarian that he is, attacked Comey for his testimony. On both Twitter and a subsequent press conference, Trump accused the ex-director of lying under oath and that he did not interfere with the Flynn case.

Speaking to Fox News’s Jeanine Pirro yesterday, Trump’s son, Donald Trump, Jr., attempted to defend his father from Comey’s revelations, but unintentionally ended up confirming them:

“When he tells you to do something, guess what? There’s no ambiguity in it, there’s no, ‘Hey, I’m hoping,'” Trump Jr. said. “You and I are friends: ‘Hey, I hope this happens, but you’ve got to do your job.’ That’s what he told Comey.”

In other words, the President did interfere by telling the head of the FBI directly that he “hoped” there would be a favorable result in the case. Trump Jr. has seemingly indicated that his father attempted to strong-arm Comey into pursuing a certain outcome. This theory is not unfounded as it was disclosed before the Senate hearing that Comey was afraid of being left alone with Trump, a weakness he further confirmed during questioning.

Regardless, we hope the media and journalists take advantage of Trump Jr.’s slip to further build up a case against the Trump Administration.
