Shocker: Ivanka Trump Speaks Out AGAINST Trump Administration, FOR Journalists
Ivanka Trump made some shocking statements
In an interview with Axios’ Mike Allen and Jonathan Swan, White House Senior Advisor Ivanka Trump disclosed some startling deviations she has from her father’s recent political policies concerning the news media and immigrant children. Namely, that she doesn’t believe in the concept of a conflict between the media and the people, and that separating children from their parents is wrong.
Speaking on the former, Ivanka responded to a question Allen asked regarding whether or not she believed that the press was the enemy of the people, a sentiment that has grown tremendously in Trump circles, as evidenced by the antagonistic attitude towards CNN reporter Jim Acosta, who was covering a Trump rally in Florida on July 31st.
Just a sample of the sad scene we faced at the Trump rally in Tampa. I’m very worried that the hostility whipped up by Trump and some in conservative media will result in somebody getting hurt. We should not treat our fellow Americans this way. The press is not the enemy. pic.twitter.com/IhSRw5Ui3R

Ivanka, who has been regarded by some as the Trump Administration’s other “First Lady”, due to her extremely close relationship with her Father, the President, and her constant presence and influence in the White House, was blunt in her answer:
“No, I do not. I do not feel that the media is the enemy of the people.”
Regarding the second point of family separation at the border, the President’s daughter was a little more ambivalent. While expressing sympathy for the situation of immigrants, she ultimately decided to cast blame on a different party than her father’s administration and Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency; the parents of said children:
“I am a daughter of an immigrant, my mother grew up in Communist Czech Republic, but we are a country of laws. … We have to be very careful about incentivizing behavior that puts children at risk of being trafficked, at risk of entering this country with coyotes or making an incredibly dangerous journey alone.”
.@IvankaTrump: “That was a low point for me as well. I feel very strongly about that. I am very vehemently against family separation and the separation of parents and children…immigration is incredibly complex as a topic.” #axios360 pic.twitter.com/shU32wprwu

Considering Trump started the immigrant conversation with the claim that Mexican immigrants were criminals, Ivanka’s more empathetic message is progress for this administration. It is far from being anything substantial, but if enough pressure is put on the White House more change can come.
