Torture Happy Trump Won’t Ask Anyone To Break Laws, He’ll Just Change Them

Donald Trump Has Made It Clear That If There Is One Thing He Loves, It Is Torture.

Donald Trump appears to be the sadistic torture candidate of 2016 – this on top of the racism, xenophobia and small fingers. Maybe he’s been watching the entire series of “Saw” movies over and over? His thirst for blood is unparalleled among any of the Republican candidates.

Yes, once again, according to CNN, Donald “Waterboard Everyone!” Trump has come out with more sadistic torture backing while at a rally in Florida-but with a small twist that some see as a “softening” on his position.

“We’re going to stay within the laws. But you know what we’re going to do? We’re going to have those laws broadened because we’re playing with two sets of rules: their rules and our rules.”

Well, that provided a pleasant out from the scrutiny he faced by people like former CIA Director Michael Hayden who made it clear that if Trump asked U.S. military officials to perform illegal torture techniques, they wouldn’t comply. What better way to overcome asking people to do illegal things than by changing the laws? Brilliant!

Trump was interviewed by John Dickerson on CBS’s “Face the Nation” where he once again said that waterboarding, which is currently banned, should be brought back.

“You know, it’s very tough to beat enemies that don’t have any, that don’t have any restrictions, all right? We have these massive restrictions. Now, I will always abide by the law, but I would like to have the law expanded. I happen to think that when you’re fighting an enemy that chops off heads, I happen to think that we should use something that’s stronger than we have right now. Right now, basically, waterboarding is essentially not allowed, as I understand it. … I would certainly like it to be, at a minimum, at a minimum to allow that.”

At a minimum? What is the maximum? How sadistic IS Donald Trump? Does he want heads to be chopped off as well, or at least limbs? How far is Trump willing to go? Or, more specifically, how far is Trump willing to order other people to go?

And another obvious question is, why? Why is Trump so dead set on torture when many experts are arguing that it just doesn’t work?

According to Vice News, in December 2014, a Senate Select Committee on Intelligence looked at the CIA’s “enhanced interrogation” program (also known as torture) involving 119 “high-level al Qaeda suspects.” They released a 500-page report that outlined some of the absolutely brutal torture that was carried out on some of them and it reads like a Donald Trump dream come true.

“At least five CIA detainees were subjected to ‘rectal rehydration’ or rectal feeding without documented medical necessity,” according to the summary. “The CIA placed detainees in ice water ‘baths.’ The CIA led several detainees to believe they would never be allowed to leave CIA custody alive, suggesting to one detainee that he would only leave in a coffin-shaped box. One interrogator told another detainee that he would never go to court, because ‘we can never let the world know what I have done to you.’ CIA officers also threatened at least three detainees with harm to their families — to include threats to harm the children of a detainee, threats to sexually abuse the mother of a detainee, and a threat to ‘cut [a detainee’s] mother’s throat.'”

And what did the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence determine in its executive summary?

“At no time did the CIA’s coercive interrogation techniques lead to the collection of imminent threat intelligence, such as the hypothetical ‘ticking time bomb’ information that many believe was the justification for the use of these techniques.”

After the CIA did all of these horrible, horrible things, it was determined that it wasn’t actually worth doing. And yet, for some reason, Donald Trump STILL insists he wants to torture people. And, the way he talks about it, it almost seems as though he isn’t actually interested in the fact that, as a way to extract information, it isn’t worth doing. He just sees that groups like ISIS are doing brutal things, so he wants to do brutal things back. And, what is even scarier is the fact that when he brings up torture at rallies, his supporters applaud and cheer.

When it comes to torture, Donald Trump just can’t seem to get enough, and his supporters seem to love it. But, as the old saying goes, be careful what you wish for… YOU just might get it.
