Exasperated Trump Babysitter Conway BEGS The Donald – Don’t ‘Betray’ Deplorables With Romney Nod (VIDEO)

Trump advisor Kellyanne Conway gave her boss a stern warning that if he appoints Mitt Romney as secretary of state, many of his followers will feel betrayed. In an interview with CNN, Conway discussed shared her feelings about this, Politico reports.

there’s No love between conway and romney

And she was not happy.

“It’s just breathtaking in scope and intensity,” Conway said, noting his supporters are deeply opposed to Romney.

On Thanksgiving, she took to Twitter:

“I felt compelled to come forward on behalf of the people who were weighing in,” she said, regarding her tweet.

In an interview with CNN correspondent Dana Bash on State of the Union, Conway also said she had her own personal concerns if Romney earns the top diplomat job. She even took time to criticize his 2012 presidential run.

“You know, Gov. Romney ran for the same office four years ago and lost spectacularly,” she said. “Mitt Romney lost Michigan by 10 points; Donald Trump just won it.”

Then she dug in her heels:

“Gov. Romney in the last four years, I mean, has he been around the globe doing something on behalf of the United States of which we’re unaware? Did he go and intervene in Syria, where they’re having a massive humanitarian crisis,” she wondered.

“Has he been helpful to Mr. Netanyahu?”

Ugh. Netanyahu gets far more help than he deserves.

But that wasn’t the only fun to be had. Perhaps encouraged by the ongoing public Romney-bashing, top supporters like Newt Gingrich and Mike Huckabee also attacked the former Massachusetts governor. And this means he’s not likely to wind up in D.C. come January.

“I’m all for party unity, but I’m not sure that we have to pay for that with the secretary of state position,” Conway said. “We don’t even know if Mitt Romney voted for Donald Trump.”

Trump is also considering former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani for the secretary of state job as well, Raw Story reports.

Lap dog Giuliani would likely be favorable to the other loyalists and conservative hardliners that Trump has picked for his administration so far, but he’s worked as a consultant to foreign governments, and that has drawn criticism from some quarters.

But if Trump decides to nominate Romney, there’s a good chance he could unify his party and win over any Republicans who may be skeptical about his choice, Raw Story reports.

Conway however, doesn’t see it that way. She noted this may draw ire from his supporters if he nominates Romney, who called him a “fraud” and a “phony” in speeches over the past year.

“They feel betrayed to think that you can get Romney back in there after everything he did — we don’t even know if he voted for Donald Trump,” she said on Meet the Press. “He and his consultants were nothing but awful to Donald Trump for a year.”

She said she’ll stand by her boss if he chooses Romney for the position. Then other Republicans criticized her for dragging this out on television, instead of talking to Trump directly.

But Conway fired back:

And there’s been plenty of sniping behind the scenes between Trump and Romney, but some other alternatives have emerged, including former General David Petraeus, who served two years’ probation after revealing he had given top secret information to his biographer, whom he was also having an affair with.

Which to me, sounds like he would not be the best choice for this job.

And things between Trump and Romney, the Republican Party’s 2012 nominee, have been acrimonious.

Romney has said he didn’t expect Trump to win the GOP nomination and has called some of the real estate magnate’s past comments “childish in some respects.” Trump was in a snit after that, and tweeted:

Trump responded with his usual bad case of over-inflated ego and said he could have forced Romney to his knees when he sought his endorsement in 2012.

“He was begging for my endorsement,” Trump said. “I could have said, ‘Mitt, drop to your knees’—he would have dropped to his knees.”

And the verbal salvos went back-and-forth until the election, when Trump shocked everyone by meeting with Romney to discuss the potential of his becoming secretary of state.

Perhaps the fighting will continue if Romney becomes Secretary of State, I don’t know. What I do know is that this is going to be a very long four years.
